Usage guide
Which compression level should you choose?
The low level aims for light shrinking while preserving quality; balanced suits most office documents. The high level compresses more aggressively for email quotas or upload limits.
At high compression, pages may be rasterized, which can reduce text selectability. If you'll need to copy text later, prefer the balanced level.
What if there's no size reduction?
If a file is already optimized, or is mostly vector or text content, further shrinking can be limited. In that case, the tool lets you know and won't present a larger file as “compressed.”
Compression is generally more effective on scan-heavy PDFs. If needed, deleting unnecessary pages first and then compressing can reduce the size further.
