Numbering in professional documents
Page numbers make it easier to reference pages in proposals, reports, or contract attachments. Starting the range at 2, or adjusting the starting number, is a common way to skip numbering the cover page.
The “1 / 10” format also shows the total page count, helping readers know where they are in a long document.
What to consider when choosing a position
Check the preview first to avoid overlapping an existing footer or signature area. Bottom center is a safe default for most office documents.
Numbers are added permanently to the document. To try a different format, keep the source PDF and generate a new output.
